In the early 80's I purchased my first bike, a used Yamaha XT250. I had fallen in love the moment I saw the bike and heard the 4 stroke sound coming out of its Supertrapp exhaust. It was silver with a red and black stripe on the tank. The bike had a single shock running up the center underneath the tank I rode the bike everywhere both on-road and off-road. It was a lot of fun to take it off-road and blast sand and stones with its knobby rear tire. The little Yamaha was very reliable, never let me down even when I was abusing it, never complained. I had it for a few years, then sold it when I got married and emigrated to the USA.
I will be returning to the Yamaha fold in the Spring of 2011 with the new Super Ténéré. I expect my new Yamaha to be as good as my trusted XT250. I have lots of plans for it, lots of adventures with curvy and gravel roads are in the cards, only time will stop me.
