Today was another long day time wise but with much less riding. It's now 1:45am and I am extremely tired, I will blog this day at another time. A brief synopsis.
Left Yorkville, Illinois, a little after 7am after having breakfast at the motel and then rode north to Cameron, Wisconsin, about 360 miles. Along the way saw a "pink" elephant with glasses, just had to take a picture with my bike in it, who would have believed me I had seen a pink elephant without proof?
Had Kevin from Scrambler Cycle in Cameron mount new Heidenau K60 Scouts tires on my bike. Everything went smooth and the bike looks great with these tires.

To give you an idea of what a treasure Kevin has in his shop I took a picture outside his shop but you have to see the inside.
A fellow blogger arrived at the shop to meet me and then invited me to stay at his place for the night. We rode another 80 miles north to Cable, yes, that's the name of the town. He then took me out to dinner with his wife and didn't allow me to pay or help pay my part. I had a very tasteful cod platter.
His wife prepared a room for me, they have a beautiful house in the woods. I played with some of her cats, I only saw five but there's six in the house and then we stayed up looking at maps and discussing past rides. We both have traveled many of the same roads. I will just mention he rides a green mean machine.
To be continued........
Keeping them coming! I love reading your blog. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteSay that green machine looks familiar. You meet the nicest people on a hond...... motorcycles.
ReplyDeleteThe green mean machine :-)
DeleteYea, the nicest people ride motorcycles and have blogs :-)
When you were in Yorkville, did you head north on 47 to WI? I live just 7 mile off RT 47, about 40 minutes north of Yorkville. My youngest son lives in Plano, just west of Yorkville. Small world...not so much when you ride.
ReplyDeleteYes I did, up 47 until 88, then west to Rochelle :-) I had no idea otherwise I would have stopped for coffee :-)
DeleteGeorge, thanks for stopping. It was nice to meet a fellow blogger in person!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hospitality, I can't say enough about you guys, and the breakfast this morning was wonderful, your wife is an angel for putting up with us bloggers :-)
DeleteForgot to mention, the airhawk you gave me is the best thing on my bike now :-)
DeleteMakes the long days much nicer, my butt was sore from the 930 miles the previous day :-)
Best gift ever.
Following along. Have a great time. I'm enjoying your photos. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori :-)
DeleteAwesome that you got to meet up with Erik and his wife. It is always nice to see fellow bloggers getting together.
ReplyDeleteOh and good thing you got the picture of the pink elephant wearing glasses. This way people won't think you were (a) imagining it; or (b) self medicating :-)
Yea but some of my friends still think I'm self medicating :-)
DeleteI wish I could join you guys at the end of the month :-(
George:
ReplyDeletePink elephant photo or not, it looks like trickery to me. There is no such thing as a Pink elephant
Meeting other bloggers are like meeting old friends. Too bad you couldn't make our meeting. so close . . .
